Personal message from the Teacher/Coach
Joleen Sture

I have been teaching since the age of 16. In 1996 I studied Physical Theatre and Dance at Salford University.   Then carried on with other dance qualifications through the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) gaining associate and membership status.

I now feel it is time for me to pass on my knowledge to the youth of today. Therefore giving them as much enjoyment and fulfillment as dance and cheerleading has given me.
Medway Cheerleading And Dance Academy has been established since 1998.
Studying Ballet, Tap, Freestyle, Theatre Craft and Cheerleading.

In 2000/2001 Gillingham Football Club held tryouts for a new cheerleading Squad. This is where GForce began. After the 1st year the choreographer left, and I Joleen Sture took over.   We stayed GFC for 2 1/2 seasons.   This is when my passion for cheerleading began.

In previous years we have entered British Cheerleading Association(BCA) Competitions.   In 2003 GForce entered The Loughborough Nationals and were placed, which put them through to the internationals, and again we were placed. The squad was up against teams from Europe and the U.S.A, so you can imagine how proud we were as this was our 1st competition!   Medway Rockets and Medway Flames were also entered and placed in BCA and Cheer Technique comps during 2003/04!   Most recently we entered the Southern classic BCA competition at Brighton 3/12/06 and were placed 1st in cheer and 1st in dance!!   A truly outstanding achievment

We still today enter BCA Comps.

There is nothing better than running onto the floor at a BCA cheerleading competition!

There are various exams, competitions and shows that will be available to our dance students.   Exams are take through the IDTA and Cheer Technique.   All ages and abilities will be welcome, from the beginner to the more advanced student.
At Fitness First Gym, Snodhurst Bottom, Chatham and Ridge Meadow Primary School we are offering Ballet, Tap, Freestyle, Cheerleading and Stunting Classes.   More dance subjects will be available upon request.

We also offer workshops to schools.
