The journey started at 8.45am!!! A rainy drive to brighton. We arrived just after 11.30am after following Laura who got us lost!!! Once inside Debbie announced she had no dance outfit, ARGGGG!!! Luckily mum brought it up later in the day, or she would of performed with just her poms!!!! After watching the Peewees and Juniors or nerves started to come, but we held our heads high and ran onto the floor, screaming and shouting at our brillant fans!!! The routine was flawless apart from a few hitches in the stunts!! No sooner had we started our time was up. The BUZZ was unreal, there were some tears but we new we had done our best!! All we could do was wait!!!
After a 4 hours it was time to dance, wot we do BEST!! We strutted across the floor, and got into position, the drums started to roll and so our hearts thumped!!! We were off, no going back now, we all danced across the floor doing our thing and pulling the best faces at the judges!! And yet again it was over before we had a chance to begin!!! But we were AWESOME!!!! The worst part was yet to come, THE AWARDS. We sat in a circle on the matt waiting nervously, with our junior and peewee supporters. The were 5 trophies up for grabs for cheer, all holding hands in a circle we waited to hear our name, but it didnt come, 5th....4th....3rd was anounced, then 2nd..........and that was it, we new we had blown it, when all of a sudden it was announced SENIOR CHAMPIONS ARE "M.C.D.A" OMG we went crazy!!!!!! Never have we won a 1st for cheer. We all were like nutters jumping and screaming all over the place, I had to climb through the girls to get our TROPHY!!! What a shock result!! All the girls were crying with excitment. But then we had to wait again.........5th place, 4th place, 3rd place again we put our heads down, we were gutted, 2nd place came and went then all of a sudden 1st place senior dance champions are "M.C.D.A" OMG OMG again we went crazy, we had done it, been away for 3 years, came back and were crowned CHAMPS in dance and cheer!!!!!! The past 10 weeks have been an emotional trip for all of us, we have had falls, bruises, trips, tears, I have had lots of stress, making a two and a half minute song which took 5 HOURS!!!! Sorting kits and costumes, but let me tell you, it has all been worth it!!! MCDA COWBOYS ROCKED THE FLOOR and belive me, there will be poeple talking about us for the next year!!! I personally want to thank EVERYONE for their hard work, the squad, our supporters and most of all my wonderful fiancee WESLEY, who has probably had to put up with the most, it paid of!! YOU ARE ALL TRUE STARS, THANK YOU, YOUR DEDICATED COACH JOLEEN XXXX
